Parker School Task Force

The Parker School Task Force was formed to address the vacancy caused by the Cortland City School District closing Parker Elementary School in June 2019. In its early phases, the task force solicited feedback and learned that community members want the space continue to be used for children; and do not want it to be used for more housing or become a vacant building. Through an ongoing open process, the task force identified two nonprofit entities that were interested in utilizing the building for daycare: the YWCA Cortland and the Cortland County Community Action Program, Inc. (CAPCO).
