Skateboard Park

July 13-17 and August 10-14, Skateboard Camp Is Back!!

Attention Skateboarders, now that summer is officially here, it’s time to sign up for the 2009 Skateboard Camp. Now in its 8th year, the Cortland Skate Park camp has been a popular summer activity for many youngsters who are just learning the sport of skateboarding. It has also been a “must” for the intermediate boarders looking to improve their technique.

This year’s camp will have two sessions and will be taught by returning instructors, Cory Anderson and Zach Burhans. They will be joined for the first time this year by another local skater, Froggie Nelson. The first session is from July 13 to July 17 and the second session is from August 10 to August 14. The camp runs from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. Helmets are required for all participants and pads are recommended for beginners. The registration fee includes an official 2009 CSP t-shirt. For more info, call the Cortland Youth Bureau at (607) 753-3021 or stop by the Bureau at 35 Port Watson Street in Cortland. But hurry, space is limited.

Onondaga Skate Park Field Trips

Skateboarders will want to get “on board” for the trips to Onondaga Skate Park this summer through the Cortland Youth Bureau. The Onondaga Skate Park is a “one of a kind” on the Northeast, an all concrete park similar to the ones you find in California. Space is limited so sign up early or you may be left behind! And remember, if you have a season’s pass for the Cortland Park, you’ll get a $1 discount at the Onondaga Park admission.
