New State Aid for Cortland Repertory Theatre Downtown

CRT received word that they are the recipients of $180,000 in state funds to assist with their continuing renovations to "CRT Downtown", the future home for fall, winter and spring productions and programs!

The Cortland Downtown Partnership, with the assistance of Thoma Development, applied for this grant on behalf of the CRT project, and received the news in late December.

This is a tremendous boost to their Capital Campaign. These funds are focused on "Phase Two" of the project, which includes upgrades to the sprinkler and air ventilation systems, new public rest rooms and the construction of the "Grand Hall" theatre.

It is crucial to note that this is a matching grant. The entire cost of Phase Two is estimated to be $500,000, and CRT needs to raise their share of the remainder of the funds in order to continue renovations. Since these state aid funds are not available to them until they have raised their share and completed the work, your donation is needed to help them reach their goal!

With this new facility, the economic impact CRT will have on our community will be significant. In CRT's recent economic impact study, it was estimated that CRT brings over $1 million in regional economic activity, just by operating 3 months out of the year. Imagine the impact when CRT operates year round!
