Gifts from the Cortand Youth Bureau

Are you still looking for that perfect holiday gift for someone special on your list? Why not try the Cortland Youth Bureau? That’s right, the Cortland Youth Bureau has many unique items that make perfect gifts this time of year.

The hottest gift you’ll find at the Youth Bureau, and at various locations around Cortland, is the 2011 calendar called “Cortland Sports: One Hundred Years in Photos.” The calendar is a real collectors item for all the history and sports buffs out there. Filled with local photos of Cortland residents participating in sports and various recreational pursuits, the calendar is unique in the fact that almost all the people in the photos are identified. Stop by and check it out! See if you can spot grandpa, grandma or an aunt or uncle. The calendar is a collaborative project between the Cortland County Historical Society, the Youth Bureau and the East End Community Center.

Other items available at the Youth Bureau that will make great gifts for the hard to please are: the official 2010 Skate Park T Shirt, a DVD of all the best Small Fry Football highlights, the East End Community Center’s debut cookbook called “A Taste of Tradition,” note cards depicting various historical city scenes and people, and finally a collection of DVD’s produced throughout the past 5 years by the East End Community Center as part of the “History and Heritage” lecture series.

All of the above gifts are very moderately priced and the money goes to support both East End Center and Youth Bureau activities. So, you can both cross someone off your shopping list and help three organizations do more for the community in 2011.

The Youth Bureau is located at 35 Port Watson Street in Cortland. To inquire about a specific item or the cost, please call the Bureau at (607) 753-3021.
