Accident Reports Available Online

The City of Cortland Police Department is digitizing its accident reports through a partnership with the Carfax Police Crash Assistance Program. The reports are stored electronically in a secure database and available for purchase online at

Public access to accident reports is now more efficient.  Reports needed by involved parties, insurance companies and other members of the public are now easily obtained online within minutes.  The consumer can purchase a digital copy of an accident report for $10.00 using this online system or they can respond to the Cortland Police Department Records Bureau and receive a paper copy of the report for $.25 for each page of the report.  On average the reports will be available both online and in person between five to seven days from the date of the accident.
