IS YOUR DOG LICENSED?

Article 7 of New York State Agriculture & Markets Law states that all dogs in New York State must be licensed.

All dog owners who harbor a dog(s) 4 months or older within the City of Cortland must license their dogs.

Marriage Licenses

Marriage licenses are available for $40. The following documents must be presented at the time of application:

certified copy of birth record listing parents names
driver's license
certified copies of each and every divorce

Requesting Records

Application forms for marriage, birth, and death records, and Freedom of Information request forms are available on-line. Click any of the links below. In order to view and print these forms, you must have Adobe Acrobat installed on your computer. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat you can download it now for free.

Please Note: The marriage, birth and death record application forms must be submitted to the Cortland City Clerk's Office at 25 Court Street, Cortland NY 13045 with the fee of $10 per copy and a photocopy of a photo I.D. or a notarized statement. If application is mailed in and fee is paid by money order or certified bank check, the copy will be sent immediately. Personal checks will be held until they clear the bank.
